Hazel Millington

For me, like many young women, birthdays and Christmas meant sparkly jewellery. A love of unique jewellery, and especially art glass, has insinuated itself into my very being. Whilst visiting the art hotspots of west coast America, I became fascinated by dichroic and fused glass. Learning to create fused glass pieces and sharing my passion for colour has informed my glass and jewellery design journey.

I draw my creative inspiration from the Norfolk countryside, its sweeping vistas and picturesque coasts. The colours of nature, of light and night, and of the imagination. This inspires my original hand-crafted designs. Unusual elements and quality materials are essential ingredients in the creation of my pieces.

Mostly self-taught, I employ traditional and contemporary techniques to fashion individually designed pieces; creating unique range of kiln formed glass, including fused glass art, hand-crafted decorative and functional glassware, and a range of dazzling jewellery incorporating art silver clay, sterling silver, pearls and gemstone beads.

My work can be seen at National Trust shops at Anglesey Abbey, Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Flatford, Bridge Cottage, Ickworth House, Oxburgh Hall, Sutton Hoo and Wicken Fen Visitor Centre
Also galleries and shops in Norfolk including The Garden House Gallery, Cromer, The Red Lobster, Sheringham, Cley NWT Reserve Visitors Centre, The Handcrafted Company, Blakeney, The Seahorse Gallery, Holt, Riverside Art and Glass Wroxham, Studio Line Design on the Wells light Railway complex, Le Strange Old Barns, Hunstanton, Jarrold Forum shop, Norwich and The Art Lounge, Swaffham
